The live preview lets you see your web page design as it would appear in a web browser. It is different from the design view in that the design view is an HTML approximation of your design, the Live Preview is your web page, generated and displayed in an embedded web browser.
Because live preview generates your page automatically and executes it, it can be slow when doing multiple updated to a page, it may be best to use Design Preview in this case and switch to Live Preview when you need Live Preview Features.
How to select Live Preview
To select the live preview, click the "Live Preview" tab in the In the design area.
Why use Live Preview?
Live preview actually embeds your generated web page right into dbQwikSite. You can actually test your page within dbQwikSite without having to select the "test on PC" option. In addition, the design preview is limited to a HTML approximation of your page, it does not account for the design effects resulting from custom code (Developer Edition) or features implemented via plug-ins.
Live preview gives you a true reflection of what you page will look like in finally deployed. The downside of live preview is that it can slow the design process at it renders more slowly than the design view. If you are making may design changes to your pages, the selecting design view will result in faster response times for each change.
Differences Between Live Preview and Design View
Warning: Live View is LIVE that is to say it is running your pages connected to whatever database you selected for design. Whatever live page functions you to will update and modify your database. Be aware of this when testing using live preview.
