Formatting Data Values

How your data is displayed can affect the clarity of your web pages.  You may want to format numbers to help your visitors understand your data more easily, eg controlling the number of decimal places, or using a comma (,) to separate thousands and millions.

To Adjust the Data Format:

1. Click on the Data Set editor button on the toolbar

- OR -

1a. Right Click on the Field Item of the DataSet.

1b. Select Properties from its popup menu.

2. The Format Data Dialog Box will appear. You can change the appearance of the fields on your page.

If the Data Field type is not a number, the Format Data Dialog Box will appear as below:

When you change a format in the data type, it will change your data display format only, it will not change the data in the database.
